"Yongzhen-Lego Community Child Friendly Project" community signing and training meeting held in Shanghai

On September 26th, the community signing and training session of “Yongzhen-Lego Community Child Friendly Project” was held in Shanghai. Beijing Yongzhen Public Welfare Foundation donated and signed Shanghai social service institutions and project community sites, and worked on community social work. The participants conducted intensive training.


On September 26, the community signing and training session of the "Yongzhen-Lego Community Child Friendly Project" co-sponsored by the China Child Friendly Community Promotion Program Office and Beijing Yongzhen Public Welfare Foundation was held in Shanghai. At the signing ceremony, Beijing Yongzhen Public Welfare Foundation signed donations to 10 social service agencies and project community sites in Shanghai, and conducted centralized training for community social workers. This is the third batch of community signing appointments held in China after the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Zhejiang Jiaxing region.

During the event, Li Xinmin, the secretary general of Beijing Yongzhen Public Welfare Foundation, signed a contract with the head of the community service organization and donated a combination of Lego bricks.

He Xuesong, the dean of the School of International Social Work of East China University of Science and Technology, delivered a speech as a representative of the expert think tank. He affirmed the importance and significance of the construction of child-friendly communities in China. Expectations for child-friendly projects, and also hope that the International Institute of Social Work can play a more leading role in the construction of child-friendly communities.

Zhang Yi, director of the Office of the Child-Friendly Community Work Committee, gave a presentation on child-friendly concepts, case studies and construction standards. Zhang Miaorong, a doctor of sociology from East China University of Science and Technology, conducted research and sharing with the participants around child growth and protection.

Representatives of the LEGO Group conducted centralized training for social workers in related social organizations to motivate them to base themselves on the community's public service space, make them better lead families to carry out parent-child games in the community, and encourage parents to accompany their children's growth in high quality.

Nearly 50 people participated in the event, including Zhu Qiuxia, Deputy Secretary-General of Beijing Yongzhen Public Welfare Foundation, Fan Bin, a professor at the School of International Social Work of East China University of Science and Technology, representatives of the Lego Group, and leaders from various social service agencies in Shanghai and core members of the community child and family service project.

It is reported that in August 2018, the LEGO Group donated more than RMB 600,000 worth of LEGO toys and teaching materials to Beijing Yongzhen Public Welfare Foundation for use in "community child-friendly projects" to support the development of community children education and parent-child activities. The project is expected to cover the whole country In 70 communities, more than 20,000 families will benefit.
