On June 1, Mr. Zhou Weiyan, President of Beijing Yongzhen public welfare foundation, director of children's friendly community working committee of China Community Development Association and director of Shenzhen one foundation, was invited to participate in the seminar of "nutrition poverty alleviation, healthy future, the fifth anniversary of rural compulsory education students' nutrition improvement plan" held by China Development Research Foundation and gathered energy in action: helping students' camp The theme forum of "raising and improving" shared the experience and Thinking on children, nutrition and the future:
In his speech, Mr. Zhou Weiyan talked about the reason and original intention of being the Beijing Yongzhen Public Welfare Foundation (hereinafter referred to as Yongzhen), and the difference between Yongzhen as a non-public foundation and the public foundation in strategic choice and operation mode. First of all, Yongzhen clearly takes children as the core and conducts social innovation experiments; in addition, Yongzhen adheres to the guidance of sustainable development, explores the way out of traditional dependence on government procurement and external donation, and solves social problems in a more efficient way. Mr. Zhou stressed that as a non-public foundation, it needs to be willing to try to do risk-taking projects, especially forward-looking and sustainable development projects.
Today happens to be June 1 International Children's day. As the main initiative and sponsor of China's children friendly community promotion program, teacher Zhou put forward three points of her thoughts on China's children's cause in her speech.
First, "get rid of children and help them" - that is, the promotion plan of China's child friendly community is based on the in-depth understanding of national conditions, and is a government led structural system that encourages multiple participation. It is under the guidance of the women and children's Working Committee of the State Council, jointly sponsored by the China Community Development Association of the Ministry of civil affairs and the China children's foundation of the women's Federation, and supported by the China children's center and the China Urban Planning Society.
Second, every Chinese child should enjoy his or her rights. As one of the States parties to the United Nations Convention on the rights of the child, China should earnestly implement the Convention, so that every Chinese child can enjoy his or her due rights, so that every Chinese child can enjoy the support of universal benefits, so that every Chinese child can have a sense of happiness. "Every child in China, whether poor or rich, disabled or healthy, rural or urban, should have their rights," said Zhou.
Third, in the next 10-20 years, the promotion of inclusive services for children and their families and the continuous training of service providers will be the constant work of China's child friendly community promotion plan. I hope more partners from all walks of life can promote this cause together.
At the site of this seminar, many guests came to share their experiences with Mr. Zhou, who was moved by his lifelong pursuit and mission of promoting inclusive programs around children and families.
More than 400 guests from governments, enterprises, international institutions, public welfare institutions and local governments attended the seminar.
